Home Ministry and Defence Ministry should jointly come up with a plan for alleviating the fears of the common man about national security. With India gaining in prominence on the wor ld stage, there will be many who would want to do us harm, so in this environment, being a little paranoia as opposed to our normal "chalta hai" attitude could actually work to secure many innocent lives.

india should shift to a presidential form of govt, like the united states with two party system.this will put an end to vote bank politics and will improve over all political standard of our leaders.and there by better governance and accountability.because i feel the present politucal system gives small time politians a major role in govt formation etc.who even dont know the abc of national security, the only think of making money.

What happened at Mumbai has stirred up the emotions of all of us even though there have been many such events in the past. We, as citizens of this great nation should take whatever steps required to fight this scourge. Everyone in this country - Leaders and citizens should ensure that there is no compromise. To achieve this we have to rise about the old evils of corruption, nepotism and selfishness. We should collective focus our strenghts so that as a nation India will achieve greatness.

I write this in the memory of my friends who lost their lives and for some who are still recovering from the tragic incident. I also remember the brave people who sacrificed themselves to defend my great Country. Why do we say "Enough is Enough", I feel we are shameless humans who keep going on with our lives post such terrorist attacks. Emotions and anger flows for a few days and weeks and then we are back to where we were. But I have high hopes this time. If we lose this opportunity we may never be safe and never get things right for ourselves in the future. Here's a list we can do : Be vigilant all the time. Respect everybody in this country Stop taking and giving bribes Elect people who can do more than talking and promising Hold ourselves first and the people in responsible places accountable. Be a helping hand to the poor, you don't want him to a future terrorist. (Never Sympathize with terrorists) Spread education & knowledge Provide equal opportunities to everyone irrespective of caste, creed or religion. Don't appease/ marginalize or alienate people, groups and religions. Start in a small way in your own community by building trust amongst ourselves first. If we all start to contribute in the above list maybe we can all sit together and build a bigger list. I hope and pray that happens soon.

Only military personnel, as soon as they retire from service, should be taken into the state's police force. There should be no other form of recruitment into the Police. service personnel are the best suited as they are trained and ready. This will also lead to a centralized form of recruitment and a single window for our forces provide the cops with at least SLRs and banish the 303 rifles. Provide latest weapons to out elite commandos instead of useless MP5 sub machine guns and army (similar to what is used by Israelis and shown on "future weapons" a small assault rifle manufactured in Israel and US.

I as a citizen of India demand that stop for the sake of the nation stop politicizing each and every issue and stop selling the country for votes. Stop dividing the nation. Stand against the terrorists not against people who elected you. How long are we supposed to go out every day to work and not know if we will return or not? If you do not stop your political games, there will be no country left to play your dirty politics and for the equally corrupt beauracracy. Did we not learn anything from the time the British took away our freedom? Why do you stay in a make believe world of yours that nothing can happen to you?
